Personal Data

Information that can be directly or indirectly linked to an individual is referred to as personal data. Name, address, phone number, and email addresses are some examples of personal data.

Any use of personal data, including information gathering, transfer, and storage, is referred to as processing. It is important to remember that personal data includes a wide variety of information. Personal data in the specific context of our data processing also includes information about your vehicle.

What kind of personal data do we collect and process?

Autopay was created with the intention of gathering as little personal data as possible. Therefore, we only process those personal data deemed necessary to achieve the processing purposes needed for you to use our services. More information on these is provided below.

The majority of the personal data we process is given to us when you create an Autopay profile, and when that Autopay profile is used to park or ev-charge. Examples of data given in this setting are name, email and vehicles. You can also choose to register a phone number and payment card to use additional services in Autopay.

When using the Autopay App we process location data to detect and avoid misuse of the system.

When using various parts of Autopay ip-addresses are stored to detect and avoid misuse of the system.

When paying online within 48 hours or on a physical payment kiosk information about the vehicle is processed.

When driving in or out of an Autopay garage cameras will capture your license plate and the image and license plate number is processed.

We also process personal data when users of Autopay.io submit the contact form.

Security is very important to us. Therefore, we collect logs that contain technical data such as IP addresses, information about user devices and web browsers.

Why we process personal data

We process personal data for several purposes, including:

  • Providing security connected to the Autopay Profile
  • To deliver the services and associated functionality tied to parking and ev-charging
  • Providing you customer service
  • Send you important information related to delivering the service.
  • In order to be able to detect and troubleshoot abuse of the service
  • Public authorities and legislation set requirements that we as a business must follow.

Who do we share your personal data with

As a general rule Autopay Tech does not sell or share your personal data with any third parties with the following exceptions:

  • The Autopay parking operators
  • Services that are built as a vital part of Autopay, such as service to send email and SMS
  • The companies doing customer service on behalf of Autopay
  • The companies doing manual correction on wrong read license plates
  • If it is necessary to comply with obligations pursuant to laws and regulations, orders from a court or other public authority, or if disclosure is necessary.

All cases where Autopay Tech uses subcontractors to handle personal information are regulated by contractual terms in accordance with current data privacy legislation.

If you allow it, and actively consent to it, a specific operator is given access to your name, email and postal code in the goal of sending you advertisement and newsletter.

As far as possible, we require that our partners process your personal data within the EU/EEA. When this is not possible, we ensure that the processing is in line with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority's recommendations, for example by ensuring that the processing is regulated by the so-called standard agreements for processing of personal data outside the EU/EEA, prepared by the EU Commission, or in countries considered safe by the EU Commission.

How your personal data is stored

We only store your personal data as long as it is necessary to achieve the purposes of which the personal data was collected, as described in this privacy policy.

As a general rule, this means that we store your data until you delete your user profile or otherwise notify us that you want your personal data deleted.

Legal obligations, such as statutory requirements for further storage for accounting purposes, or ensuring the legitimate interests of Autopay or a third party in connection with any disputes, may be stored for a longer period, but not longer than necessary.

You have the right to demand access, correction or deletion of personal data processed by us.
